Week three, Audio/Interview Techniques/Lighting

My project pitch for the final project is ‘SEA LIFE ‘ in Brighton. ‘SEA LIFE’ is a famous place for both local people and tourism. So it can represent the topic of ‘Brighton, the place, people and community. We can document the sea animals, visitors and the staff. We can use the mode of poetic documentary to documentary sea animal life in the aquarium by recording their action a long time and use music to represent the sea animals life. Also, record the visitor’s feeling about the aquarium. We could also use the mode of expository documentary, the staff who work in the ‘SEA LIFE’ could be the ‘voice of god’ they can explain the system of the aquarium or the sea animals life. This is my idea about the project.

In this week, we have a sound recording workshop, Peter taught us some skills to interview. The camera should focus to the interviewee’s upper body and the interviewer should sit left/right hand side of the camera. This makes the audience can feel like they are chatting with the interviewee face to face. Also, we should avoid YES No questions in the interview, if the interviewee only answer yes or no. It will be very different to rich the content and editing the video.

Reading this week is ‘Point, Line, Rythmn &Balance from http://www.gdbasics.com/html/point/point.html

Icons are create by the point, line and plane. Some images and pictures also. Line is drew up by points, it is the moving path and the connection of points. The plane also. We can design and present the feeling by the icons and image. Different style of the line and point create different atmosphere’s icon and images.
